If you are not happy with the recommendations of the AI algorithms on the apps you are using… start putting in a few minutes each day to hide or mute or block those with bad takes and pretentious messages. Makes a difference over time.

Few lucky people escape these, but others lose 5 and 6 figures at once. Yet, the old timers largely ignore this. Kind of like white noise to them. And yet we hope for mass adoption.

Part of the problem is the users themselves. But they immediately change course from complacency to action after the first time they get hacked/scammed. Unfortunately this means everyone I know in crypto on average has lost $3k worth of crypto/NFTs.

I work on user operation security research. I independently research scams and interview victims and then work to educate communities to avoid said scams. Had a very tough time getting support from EF, Founders and institutions. Most people want you to buy their token and not if you know how to secure it properly.

My 2 cents: Most people >99% don’t know how to self custody properly in decentralised systems. Yet the existing people in crypto think only the smart ones should survive here. Instead they should work on making self custody accessible to everyone. This reeks of moral superiority to me.
