I agree. Orwell is embedded in much of our cinema as well. But lack of literacy and knowledge enables fascism.

I actually saw 1984 on broadway with Olivia Wilde in the lead! It’s one of the most intense shows I’ve seen (there was a lot blood in the play) and I saw a lot of plays with my daughter when she was going to college for musical theatre 🎭

Saw the movie and read the book long ago. I’d love to see the stage/theatre version.

I will say, Orwell saw it all coming. He may have time traveled for all we know! But other authors made similar predictions. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury for instance.

I never had the chance, this was all my daughters plan, we saw tons of shows at crazy discounts w her school ID .. and most times like on this case we sat front row by buying tickets the day off  (some shows do that for students with leftover seats, usually on the sides where no one wants to pay the full price to not be on the center) 😎
