We started as an identity protocol in 2022, so we named it IDriss with a capitalized ID.

But as we pivoted to broader consumer apps, the ID started to feel limiting and we needed a change.

From a branding perspective, we had 3 options:
1. Name change – meant losing recognition 
2. Idriss – no no no, too close to Idris Elba
3. IDRISS – clear winner, bold and open

narrative confusion around “id riss” pushed us to reshape @idriss_xyz from the ground up. we refined each letter for clarity and boldness, then added a subtle 3d hex as a nod to og supporters. it’s all about a stronger, more cohesive brand. https://t.co/O86RJXxtb9
