Marketing consists of product, price, promotion, and placement. The 4ps.
The OP seems to be referring promotion, and you addressed it. I would hazard to say the vast majority of the time, please speak about marketing, what they really mean is promotion, and you’re rebutting against that.
Your organization /appears/ to be divided by functional groups. If you had someone in marketing, they’d be tasked with gathering insights, treating the data, and working with product on addressing. Retention falls under that.
I’d also add that retention is typically a result of fulfilling needs. With marketing, they can position (which does not necessarily mean outreach and promote) Warpcast/Farcaster in taking control of the narrative driving users and aligning it to what the product/service is. 0 reply
