So the people, including myself, who voted for him, hold the Constitution dearly. Many of us saw the overreach during covid as alarming and want a reset. We would never want someone to upend what we hold dear. If he strays, heās going against our mandate. We did not elect him because heās a demagogue. We elected him because we want less government overreach.

the U.S. Constitution addresses providing āaid and comfortā to insurrectionists in Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. This section was added after the Civil War to prevent individuals who had engaged in rebellion against the United States from holding office. Specifically, it states that any person who has taken an oath to support the Constitution and then engages in āinsurrection or rebellionā or gives āaid or comfortā to such individuals is disqualified from holding federal or state office. This. I donāt think anyone can say in good faith that they hold the Constitution dearly and still vote him for him after J6. The question is really about trade offs, and what youāre willing to overlook for perceived gains.

I don't have a stance on whether or not he should have been able to run or not because I'm not qualified to speak to that. What I can speak to is his attempt to subvert our democracy by falsely claiming the 2020 election was rigged, asking the Georgia Secretary of State for 11,700 votes, and his fake electors scheme to overturn the election results which was an attempt to undermine the will of the people.
