I think I took Carl Sagan too literally when he said "If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch you must first invent the universe"  I was just trying to make some apple pie and got distracted... lol...

jokes aside, this is multiple particle simulations in one! so you see the particles that are coming at you as individual dots, but those are also how the stars and the nebulae itself is made too, just longer particles for the strings!  and obviously, just add some colour hehe
