Why do you have to sign in via phone instead of browser? 

The reason for this is:

- you need to sign that it is you
- your browser doesn’t have your Keys
- your phone does
- so you have to sign from your phone

Solution:
Build a browser extension to sign for you from where you import your custody address seedphrase
