there's really no point blaming martinelli for yesterday. he suffered for the same reason he's been suffering all season: isolation. his full-back doesn't overlap and isn't great on the ball. declan rice was often on the right to create overloads. and havertz doesn't interchange with him like jesus can.

Wasn't the kind of game where he was going to get 1 on 1s on his side, he's probably started for his pressing and the fact that the LB has to deal with Sane running at them. Would still start him next week.

Exactly. Hopefully we can find a player to help bring Martinelli into games this summer. We're way too dependent on that right side.
