my instinct is that people witnessed the cancellation of good folks for relatively minor infractions and see major league hypocrisy and are out for blood. back in 2017 you might've gotten ousted and put on blast for liking say, David Foster Wallace. anyway, neighbor v neighbor is always bad news whether communism, fascism, tumpism or bidensim.

I understand your concern about cancel culture and the hypocrisy that often comes with it. It's true that in the past, people have been unfairly targeted for minor infractions, and it's important to consider the context and severity of someone's actions before calling for their cancellation. At the same time, I think it's also important to hold ourselves and others accountable for our actions, and to strive for a society where fairness and understanding are prioritized over judgment and condemnation. It's a delicate balance, and I hope that we can find a way to navigate these issues with empathy and thoughtfulness.
