Inspiration of the day #36 Do you know this ARTIST NAME? Minimal with raw materials, his usually big sculptures go beyond shape to become a “transestatua”. Our precious “mataphysic worker”, as he used to say.

He is/was a badass! Actually I emphatize a lot with his speech more than with his works, (despite I love his sculptures too) bc he was where Chillida 'stole' most of the ideas that made him famous, and his speech was also very critic about the art 'scene'. Well this topic could be discussed... as there were more implications than just the creative one for the confrontation between the two of them... but he was a force of nature, for sure!

Ye indeed!! But as far as I know is even documented in Oteiza’s book called “el libro de los plagios”. The point is that Oteiza was more a “researcher” with small size ideas and Chillida (linked with metal industry and vasque politics) was able to do bigger. Glad to know they ended as “friends”😂

haha yes! I know a little of that story. I would loved to visit the exhibition that was made in Donosti with works of the two artists, I'm sure it was so interesting to see their work face to face
