Current AI kinda excels at pattern recognition but it still lacks true understanding. To achieve AGI, AI needs to move beyond patterns to logic-based reasoning, update its knowledge without retraining models,and apply information efficiently, while aligning with ethical safeguards. The next big breakthrough could be neurosymbolic AI, combining deep learning with reasoning.
