Nokia’s history began in 1865 with Fredrik Idestam’s paper mill in Tampere, Finland. Eduard Polón’s Finnish Rubber Works, founded in 1898, later merged with Nokia and Finnish Cable Works, leading to the formation of Nokia Corporation in 1967.
