i'm getting into Chekhov. any Chekhov maxis here? he's a huge influence on a few of my favorite writers. starting with "The Lady with the Dog" "It was said that a new person had appeared on the sea-front: a lady with a little dog." so pointed and plain. makes you jump right in with him.

Chekhov is great! I recently did a close reading of “The Lady with the Dog” to dissect how he puts together his stories. One of the impressive things about the story is how he gets you to care about the characters.

I read one Chekhov play which had a gun that did not go off. Could never trust him after that.

Chekov’s novels are right on point. I recommend him to my technical friends who want to read long-form writing that is not a documentation or a blogpost 😁
