Accidentally ran a formatter at the root path of my MacBook and it reformatted my entire life

A tool to automatically “format” your filesystem for you. Wouldn’t that be nice.

I just want to let an AI run loose on my file system and reorganise my documents perfectly

A few years ago I stopped worrying about organizing files on my computer knowing a powerful AI model would inevitably come along that could just categorize all my stuff for me. I figure it’s better to duplicate artifacts I want to edit and leave “created” and “last updated” times raw and untouched so as to leave all potentially valuable context clues intact.

Honestly I wish it were a thing that exists.

Apparently GenZ+ just use search functions; but I like having a clean taxonomy of my data ecosystem

I have been down the “graph-based filesystems” rabbit hole so many times it’s not even funny.

Hierarchical file systems are simply not enough.

Is this basically a collection of virtual hierarchical file systems with each node being a pointer to the underlying app?

Honestly that would work great for an AI. It wouldn’t even need to modify my filesystem, just spin up a new virtual hierarchy for me
