@vitalik.eth, what happens to the world if all wallet transactions--and indeed all financial transactions--become private? There's nothing we track & tax more than money; when it's earned, spent, handed down, moved from A to B. Money laundering, tax evasion, etc. will be ubiquitous. How can a state function? How can govt provide for the common defense, secure the blessings of liberty, etc? You must have thought these things through.
