I have always wondered, why is it Turkeye now? What happened to Turkey? Please help me understand the change in name

That’s a good point. I guess Turkey has two meannings, and they can be confused. Also Türkiye is Turkish word, and we prefer to use Türkiye for our country.

I think it is related with global opinion. It’s a nice option to visit Türkiye.

I thought so. I mean, why adopt a foreign name when you have your native name? Congratulations Türkiye. I hope to visit there one day
