Have you considered making a font? a language? a cipher alphabet?

I am learning Japanese right now and this feels like such a sublime aesthetic form compared to Hiragana and Katakana. Have also always been fascinated by Sumerian and cuneiform.

oof i’ve heard it’s a tough one to learn. can imagine character and symbol association alone is fatiguing. very cool that you’re learning it.

simultaneously easier than I thought it would be (super efficient to have an alphabet that contemplates sounds from combined letters) and also very fatiguing. I always feel tired after each lesson. the most fascinating part is the INTENTION of the alphabet. efficiency? aesthetics? what you can read? what it hides?

that’s really fascinating to know re: the process of learning. the intention and, almost unspoken, meaning articulated with each symbol is so alluring. they are able to convey so much in such a compact composition.
