If we changed the Warpcast default feed to Highlights with 10x casts -- with a boost for new users -- and made Following the 2nd tab, what would your reaction be? 1. Glad 2. Neutral 3. Sad 4. Mad

2 Although I think you should start laying the foundations for people to configure those tabs, and their ordering, with Warpcast defaults (Highlights, Following) and third party custom algos like what Bluesky just released.

3rd party algos are less likely for Warpcast We'd rather encourage people to use other apps like Discove, Jam, Yup, Alphacaster. Unclear custom algos scale (who pays for all the infra? what's the performance / latency like?)

Makes sense. Playing devil’s advocate, it’s unclear that third party apps are going to scale. @ev mentioned early on here that third party Twitter apps didn’t represent a super meaningful chunk of usage (back when the APIs were way more open) Super curious to know what % of FC activity is happening off WC

That may be an unfair apples to oranges comparison but I think it’d be good to keep an eye on whether custom algos take off in the market and consider making that a core Warpcaster thing, especially if the majority of users onboard here and stick to it.

As apps diverge in functionality / UI / UX, you’ll have bigger non-Warpcast apps. But if protocol continues to grow DAU (has been slower recently, but our focus), then enough TAM for multiple general purpose clients.
