Bitcoin Halving Has Occurred With the mining of block number 840,000 on the Bitcoin blockchain, the Bitcoin mining reward has been halved, from 6.25 Bitcoin to 3.125 Bitcoin. This is the fourth Bitcoin halving in 14 years, an event that occurs every four years or, more precisely, after every 210,000 blocks.
