The transition toward AGI will likely involve many smaller steps and breakthroughs in areas like cognitive architectures, improved algorithms, computational power, and perhaps most importantly, collaboration across fields like neuroscience, philosophy, and computer science. For now, though, the true autonomy we envision for AGI is still likely a long way off.

It’s exciting to imagine the future of AI, but we still have a lot to learn about both intelligence itself and how to build systems that can truly match human cognitive flexibility.
