Wednesday! Wednesday is the fourth day of the week in many cultures, falling between Tuesday and Thursday. It's named after the Norse god Odin, who was also known as Woden in Old English. The name "Wednesday" evolved from "Woden's Day." The concept of calling Wednesday "a small Friday" isn't a common or official term in English-speaking cultures. However, in some languages and cultures, there are informal expressions that relate Wednesday to the upcoming weekend: In German, Wednesday is sometimes colloquially called "kleiner Freitag" (little Friday). In Arabic-speaking countries, Wednesday night is sometimes referred to as "weekend eve" as their weekends typically start on Friday. These expressions likely stem from the idea that Wednesday marks the middle of the work week, signaling that the weekend is approaching.
