I’ve had people ask me why I bought low FIDs & wanted to write out my thoughts. Tl;dr: I like the numbers Longer answer: I grew up on MMOs & online communities. I’ve traded rare accounts, usernames, etc. for years. I see a lot of parallels between the two & believe if Farcaster succeeds, low FIDs will be valuable

In MMOs such as runescape, rare usernames such as “good/clean” words or low char count were very desirable and people would pay a lot of money for them. Early steam IDs (very similar to low FIDs) sell for thousands. People like to collect rare or early things, it’s been like that for most collectible assets.

wow didn't realize these were potentially valuable... im 1768, I tried farcaster years ago and it wasn't sticky enough at the time tbh i feel like i missed out on helping build it to where its at today but i'm glad im here now -- better late than never (but hopefully still early) and totally agree with your reasoning

If i buy a sub 10k fid and want to use my current .eth with the new account. Will i lose all of my tips of degen ive received and have to restart my rank? Also i heard having a low fid increase your multipliers for allowance and rank. Is that true?

Me with my 8601 fid🫠 My question is fids aren't on display through the farcaster ui, rather it's the usernames that are display.

What’s your outlook on the price of sub 10k in 1 year time?
