years ago i learned (thank you, oatmeal) about mantis shrimp and how it can perceive 12* different color channels and i am not the same person since

for comparison, we, humans, can only perceive 3 channels (red, green, blue)

what do the other 9 channels look like?

how do they know it can perceive that many color channels?

What is the standard for a color to be called red, green, purple or yellow? if a color is a mixture of each other color itself. 
Lets say theres is an orange color, how can it be determined as orange and not red or yellow?
Since we know there is red and yellow on it too. 
is it possible for 16 million colors to have their own names?
