What’s the best argument for compsable agents vs. one vertically integrated agent that can do everything (assuming access to the same underlying models)?

Agent is a little bit of misnomer anyway, most agents that don't have a binary function are really multiple agents masquerading as one

So doesn't really matter if its vertical (single entity) or horizontal (multiple entity) 

Strongest argument for the latter would be not reinventing the wheel each time if existing solutions are sufficient
