that tips are finally evolving and have a stronger value prop for degen community members than ever Social distribution was an incredible jumping off point but it has to evolve to stay interesting, creating a playground with the right guardrails is a great move being gameable is fine so long as it's equitable - which tips still isn't due to how big whale impact is on distribution

I like microsub, Degenpad, Memecaster Tipper but find it a bit sad that they are so dominant and individual (micro)tipping is slowly going away - despite being a killer use case for (crypto native) social networks. The fun of tipping has slowed, a.o.t. the updates from a few months ago improved guardrails but led to very low engagement), the community never made the jump towards tipping their own coins, so, it's likely a normal progression. I gave Mintclub the benefit of the doubt as I saw the good intention behind it (> boostrap a memecoin ecosystem) but it's completely counterproductive to the guardrails and also led to less tipping (no visibility for degen). Hence, it's just a way to get money out of the system. I see no value in it and would stop it. Tipping isn't the reason for big price movements anymore but it would be better to simply stop the distribution at this point with the current design and near 0 value vs some value leakage.

Value is going to people locking up their tokens for months, itโs a twist on standard staking rewards with higher velocity I donโt think they should stop the mintclub integration, just that they should add more onchain integrations so that allowances are distributed and maybe more fun then farm Agreed on micro tipping but thatโs only sustainable if it comes out of your pocket and not someone elseโs

staking is fine - if it serves some purpose. (At the moment you stake to distribute tips to yourself .. ouroboros..) There was good ideas to add some tweaks for better content discoverability, activity, long-term alignment (like reward tippers 10%, intro parameter for diff staking lengths..) that I'd consider valuable but innovations and iterations stopped months ago.. There is plenty of other cool stuff to do with socialfi apps, (meta-)staking game mechanics, especially with apps that charge fees & have a business model.. or if we stick to content/tips, you could create a tinder-like tipping app and let people like/dislike content and consequently share quality content on a reddit-style platform. there was a lot of potential. I don't see it right now. hence, it's a memecoin with value redistribution to some random stakers. PS: A blockchain is a lot of work for a small team and the competition is huge. Maybe it will become an interesting building block but I'm not seeing the value of focusing on this.

I like @juli 's point of visibility for $degen. Or, insufficient amount thereof. The airdrop mechanism is visible to the community, and sends signals in multiple directions. It should encourage builders to build things that provide value to users of $degen
