What’s this proxy wallet thing @polymarket  keeps asking me about?

I sign in with my wallet

I just want to use my self custodial funds there

Is this not possible?

UI sometimes says it is sometimes doesn’t

And it just says „you need to setup a proxy wallet to trade“

But doesn’t answer the WHY or link to „learn more“

They use a very specific proxy contract wallet, its kinda similar to what moxie did 

The only way to get one is via their site, I assume for compliance reasons

But once you have one attached to your wallet you can place orders from any kind of interface via the wallet that set it up

wouldn't it be better UX to just not show that then lol. Just do it? as part of sign up
