you do not need to transact in your own token. use eth or usdc. anytime i see a project that does this i’m immediately skeptical.

Oh yea if you're building something like Q (i.e. a base protocol) then that makes total sense. In my original cast I was referring entirely to projects building on top of Ethereum and maybe L2s? Though I know less about the latter.

What do you think about when a separate, but entirely unique network launches?

For example, Quilibrium w/ $QUIL (cc @cassie)
