Super underrated advice that only the most senior software engineers actually follow. It amazes me how many people in the industry will throw away a code base and plan to rewrite it in a weekend. Avoid rewrites at all costs. Split your code into small pieces so rewrites can be isolated when they can’t be avoided. These arts are being lost to us.
