the very first question I would ask any AI startup building on OpenAI's tech is: "why is someone going to use this over ChatGPT?"

Most SaaS companies are a thin layer on top of earlier infrastructure. Example twilio, zoom etc The thing openAI can do is what Apple Amazon etc does with data of its apis. If they feel the profit is too lucrative then they might swoop in.

My point was that they don't even have to swoop in, because they're already the default. How often do you have one of those "earlier infrastructures" build a phenomenal product with 100m million users on top of the same technology? to be clear I don't think they'll cannibalize everything, it's just a good bar to have
