Don't love the tagline tbh... "ownership" feels like the wrong way to think of it. actually memecoins are more like betting markets on internet trends. Instead of resolving to $1 or $0 (e.g. polymarket), the market always resolves to 0, but can fluctuate infinitely until that point.

I agree with you, but most people don't think like that lol It works well for their audience, who would otherwise tell friends "Ya it's an app to buy and sell memes"

i think your take (as a heuristic) is what's actually going on for the most part so prolly the mental model to stick by personally the other take is more surface level but prolly more palatable to mass consumer.
