I don't know if the average person needs to. I was showing my dad the new image feature and I noticed that his chatGPT app didn't have a model selector—just buttons for search and research. It's probably bc he doesn't pay, but nonetheless a good move by OpenAI.

I'm in an A/B test where it figure it out based on your query but you can instruct it to think a little or think harder.
