Concerns raised about WalletConnect's centralisation 1+ year ago; no improvements since. These tools are parasitic for entire Ethereum/web3 ecosystem; it makes a farce of every so-called "decentralized" app that relies on it. https://github.com/orgs/WalletConnect/discussions/2123

why are people expecting improvements here? walletconnect doesn't give a flying fuck about decentralization. they're a vc funded company building other products now and walletconnect is just a user acquisition channel for them. i would switch to mwp in a heartbeat once more wallets support it. fuck walletconnect.

What’s mwp? I wonder how much WC is really needed—the main benefit seems to be passing messages to wallet apps on mobile?

mobile wallet protocol. it's used in warpcast mobile app to connect to mobile wallets. but it only supports coinbase wallet currently, and it only works with mobile web3 apps, doesn't support websites yet.
