This is awesome. How does this work? What point / loyalty program are you using?

MileagePlus (United Airlines). It offers two upgrade instruments, traditional miles and PlusPoints.

Sweet. I've been using Eurobonus (SAS, now Skyteam) and Miles&More (Swiss) and the former would let me personally upgrade with points, but the latter doesn't seem like it allows for it. Much less random ppl on the internet.

Well the counter is that I fly a reasonably large amounts and having points to upgrade actually meaningfully helps

I’m not an optimizoor of this, but I have a credit card and try to stick to the same airline/alliance

I wouldn’t recommend a busy startup founder to join the points game. It’s an eternal grind and the ROI is not huge. I’m only doing it because in 2018/2019 it was very important for me to not sell ETH in the $100 range so I learned lots of tricks and now that knowledge is sunken cost.
