Had one hell of a day travelling today.

Got up at 5AM to catch a flight at 6:45AM. Terrible wind gusts and snlw.

After checkin the flight is immediately set to «New Info 9AM»

At 9:00 they announce that our new departure time is 10:00.

At 10:15 we’re fully boarded and it seems like we’re going to depart, except….

A few passengers have left the airport, leaving their luggage their luggage in the hold of the aircraft.

Fun fact: a plane is not allowed to depart when someone had knowingly abandons their luggage inside it

So they have to offload the luggage.

At 11:15 or so the ground crew is finished offloading and loading the flight again, and things are finally starting to look good…


Except…

Now the captain comes out to the cabin announcing that he unfortunately is not able to fly us to Oslo today as his working hours are out, as is one of the attendants.

But hold on…

There’s good news! As it turns out there’s actually an SAS pilot among the passengers… and he will fly the plane to Oslo. No problem and not weird at all?

Bad news though, 1/4 of the passengers needs to get off the plane and board the other plane to Oslo which has a full set of attendants

Except..

Some passenger walks up to the purser and asks «why don’t you just take on of the other plane’s attendants, it will be faster than moving passengers»

The crew concurs, and 30 minutes later we not only have a new pilot but  a full crew.

Things are looking great

Except

The (new) captain comes out and says «we’ve got to deice the plane and there’s a queue for it»

So we wait another 30 minutes by the gate

Then we start taxing towards deicing. Due to the holidays there’s only one deicing vehicle. It takes another 30 minutes. In the meantime the captain announces that it has started snowing and we have to wait for them to plow the runway..

We eventually depart 6 hours delayed and the flight was uneventful. We missed our connection and are staying the night at the airport hotel..

It’s now 11:45 and they start serving coffee and tea…. My daughter sho has been sleeping on my lap for the last 1hr45mins wakes up confused we’re still on the ground

At 12:05 they announce that we are going to depart now, and they hurry up and push from the gate at 12:11
