The Ghibli effect has shown two things: 1. We are Black Mirror Levels of cooked for marketing, trends, and group think. 2. AI marketing is going to create trends faster AND kill trends just as fast. Trends used to last years and maintain cultural relevance over years, decades even. Those days are over.

Reduced lifecycle of cultural relevance can be tied to proliferation. Some trends lived only because slow distribution kept more new people adopting over time. Trends in the age of social media and meme culture have already been reduced to weeks rather than months/years.
