Just finished reading The Emotional Lives of Teenagers by Dr. Lisa Damour. Highly recommend this book for any parents of teens (or soon to be teens). https://nook.social/content/642438cb-fccb-453c-b521-e5b13644e055

Did you know? Humans feel emotions more intensely as teenagers than at any other point in their life, due to the imbalance between their highly active emotional brain (amygdala) and their still-developing rational brain (prefrontal cortex), combined with hormonal changes, heightened sensitivity to social dynamics, and the novelty of new experiences. Super interesting!

I didn't know the reasons, but I was fairly confident that teenagers definitely did feel everything more intensely. I think we all had moments where we felt like we couldn't quite contain it all...
