Gianni Versace (1946–1997) was an Italian fashion designer, socialite, and businessman. He founded Versace, an international luxury-fashion house known for accessories, fragrances, makeup, home furnishings, and clothes. Versace also designed costumes for theater and films. His murder in 1997 shocked the world.
