Today, we had a lesson on mise-en-scène analysis. One of the artworks we studied was "The Soldier and the Laughing Girl" by Vermeer.

The woman, dressed modestly, smiles warmly, suggesting a moment of friendly interaction. The setting, with its intricate map in the background and delicate tablecloth, reflects Vermeer’s talent for capturing everyday life with depth and realism.
