Dogecoin is a cryptocurrency that was created as a joke in late 2013 by two software engineers,Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer.They wanted to parody the hype and wild speculation surrounding other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum.The name“Dogecoin”comes from a popular internet meme at the time,the Doge.
