Stacy Herbert, the director of El Salvadorโs Bitcoin (BTC) office, announced that the country will continue to buy Bitcoin despite a $1.4 billion settlement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). El Salvador, which currently holds 5,968 Bitcoins worth approximately $594 million, remains committed to its plans to integrate Bitcoin into its financial and educational systems. According to the announced plans, the country plans to introduce Bitcoin textbooks for second and third grade students by January 2025 and abandon the state-owned Chivo wallet in favor of private services.
