Metaplanet announced on Monday that it has purchased another 269.43 bitcoins (BTC) worth approximately $26.4 million (4 billion yen).

With the new purchase, the company’s total Bitcoin holdings have reached 2,031 units, worth about $196 million at current prices.

Metaplanet, which bought its Bitcoins at an average price of $80,700, has made a 16% profit so far.

The company, which recently issued 4 billion yen in zero-coupon bonds, aims to increase its Bitcoin holdings to 21,000 units by 2026.
