Arthur Hayes, founder of BitMEX, predicted that the short-term fate of Bitcoin (BTC) will depend on US politics, specifically Trump’s ability to pass a budget and raise the debt ceiling. He warned in a tweet that if Trump loses, Bitcoin could fall to the $70,000-$75,000 range. Hayes also warned about the possibility of a massive sell-off of BlackRock’s Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) by hedge funds, saying that as Bitcoin’s price falls, these funds will likely sell the ETF to protect their profits.
