Standing up for what you believe in does not mean disowning your friends who think differently from you

curious if there's any polling on how diff demographics feel about "not associating with people who think differently from you"

it feels very gen z

on one hand, politics isn't everything. but how do you reconcile being friends with someone who likes someone you think is really an awful person (regardless of politics)?

regardless i don't think policing celebrities' friendships does anyone any good lol

more curious about it at the personal level. why did people decide to split from their family/friends on the other side of the spectrum this decade more than in the past? maybe the increasing importance of social issues and the ideological divide there? like yeah if you're trans you probably aren't a fan of people who think trans people should not exist
