I wonder what psycho box they put those readers in? 😅 
There are a number of visual tests that demonstrate how we read and I love playing on that. Again, for me, it's about pattern recognition but also pattern conditioning. I wonder if these kind of tests show similar 'results' with Asian scripts?

generative art indeed seems like a fine sandbox for testing perception, i'm thinking about the success of works or series playing on "find what you knew". Intuitively, yes, even more fun with characters or words (deletion + permutation + crazy half-font ?). Oh no, more research !
