Transaction costs are still way too high on ETH, and layer 2s still have a long way to go until they can make strong security guarantees. 

With current txn cost, the only apps that make sense are highly financial.

Ah yes, that's a good one. What needs to happen for L2 to have strong security guarantees. Are they still pretty centralized?
