March 1 in 🇭🇳1907. Nicaragua declares war on Honduras. “The Republic of Nicaragua accepts the war that the Government of Honduras has provoked. Consequently, he will make use of all the forces at his disposal and of the rights that correspond to him, until he demands the complete reparation that is due to the outrages inflicted on his honor and dignity.” This occurs in the context of the Civil War that the Nicaraguan dictator José Santos Zelaya supported.

The objective of overthrowing President Manuel Bonilla was fulfilled. Bonilla did not want to hand over power. It was a coalition between Nicaragua and the Liberals of Honduras. The Army of that country entered Tegucigalpa and placed the Nicaraguan flag in the presidential house of Honduras.
