Lounge S2: Channel Owners

i'm interested to see if channels can possibly spin off into specialized channel clients and gain users who don't even come through the farcaster front door

there is a lot of talk about cozywebs these days – everyone feeling overwhelmed by monolithic social networks and feeling their time and attention being drained by content they didn't really ask for but can't look away. i think the channel structure can offer a more personalized experience to cut out some of the noise

of course, channels currently are not that different from a subreddit, a mastodon server, or even a discord and those haven't really provided an antidote for anything ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i suppose channels need to be something more than/different from those things but i'm not really sure what yet (⌒_⌒;)

I am always always roasting warpcast because it crashes a lot on ios. It now changed and i am really grateful to @dwr.eth and its team to finally be able to use it decently without crashing every second. Thanks a lot

Some subjective observations from using Frames for a while (mostly on web):

• I avoid clicking link buttons (↗), the additional popup is really annoying
• Most frames latency is bad, after a few seconds of spinning I just scroll away
• Impossible to find the Frames I interacted with before. I wish I could "install" them somehow or see history of frames I clicked
• "Follow X to unlock" — instant pass
• Very few actually useful frames
