Coinbase literally shot themselves in the foot by not listing Virtuals. The biggest driver of liquidity to Base will now primarily be a SOL focused launchpad (imo). Really having doubts about keeping money on Base. The original thesis was that Coinbase would pump Base. But they’re doing the opposite…

i just bridged back to base because solanas so pvp/ predatory right now. The memes on base do suck massively but at least they aren't bundled farms. You cant buy conviction over there because people sell to chase the runners of the day. and you cant buy the runners without leaving your computer cause they will dump 90% within an hour. So in short, as shitty as base is right now its at least organically shitty.

Also there's probably deeper reasons why coinbase didn't list its best base coin. I wouldn't doubt that there's massive legal holdup that we are ignorant too and they just went with the next best option for liquidity which is Solana

Yeah I might have believed that up until January 19th when the president launched a memecoin. At that moment, Coinbase should have listed Virtuals or at least signaled that they were going to.

So the thing about trump coin is it doesn't do anything, its not a product, it has no incentives, pure meme for all intensive purposes. Virtuals is far from a meme, it does a lot, spawns countless products. idk maybe I'm retarded, but I think its easier for them to list something that does nothing because thats clearly defined as nothing, your buying nothing, if you lose money on nothing its your fault. Compared to a product that launches other products, theres so many variables within that which could be tricky legally. TLDR I don't think its a whiff as much as they weren't allowed to swing the bat at all.
