The fundamental issue with consumer crypto today is lack of consumers. Consumers need interesting or entertaining content to stick around. Sign ups are irrelevant if you can’t retain them. Everything else is a marginal improvement at best.

Farcaster is probably the best consumer related crypto app I’ve ever used. What other crypto apps are this sticky with committed users? Are there any others with people spending 40+ hours a week on? I know that’s not the point you’re getting at, but I thought it was worth saying anyway. Content quality here is improving imo. Maybe not as quickly as people would like, but it’s definitely happening.

That’s a stretch An appreciated stretch, and to an extent you’re right, but a stretch. Anything that has an aspect where people with “higher” value completely ignore people with less value (and assume they’re bots) is not where you’re going to get a huge consumer aspect. The regular consumer looks for crypto, but also wants to look for news, current events, etc. Not so much hearing about what the big accounts are eating. If you’re on a spot where you don’t feel like you belong, you won’t stay.

That literally happens on any social media - not just here. You can’t jump on X or IG and expect people with massive followings to respond to you either. Were focused on onboarding the rest of crypto before we worry about regular people.

That said, I can bet you the rest of people aren’t on crypto because there hasn’t been an effort to bring reg folks So bring reg folks, then you can continue to bring the crypto people who are working with a mass audience on IG, etc. Ignore regular folks, (not saying at all That you do this let me be clear) And the other big time folks might not see the allure of being here.

You’re right, I think what I’m concerned about is being able to have the ability to connect with people of all bits of knowledge, and knowledge of basic crypto needs. Being able to freely interact with one another. But sometimes your set back of having to first maneuver the drawbacks of farcaster (which can sometimes be easily mitigated by using a different client) But the problem I have is the constant us v. Them mentality. Which is where I think the issue is about consumer crypto
