Started as a reply to someone but then realized it would make a good cast.

Sometimes the Universe keeps things out of your life knowing it's bad for you when it's what you desperately want.

This thought occurred to me when I was in the kitchen cutting up an onion.

My cat is always determined to get any little scrap, and is constantly surveying the kitchen.

The thought occurred to me that as I am standing there trying to make sure he doesn't get any of it, since onion is toxic to cats from what I've read, he is trying to make sure he DOES get some of it.

To him, I might be the big mean human preventing him from getting what he wants. But this "big mean human" is just protecting him and keeping him safe.

lol, I too have a cat that does this. Probably my fault for feeding her good human food occasionally.

That’s so true. Life has a funny way of teaching us that what we desire isn’t always what’s best for us, and sometimes the things we resist the most are exactly what we need to grow.
